Why ResQGear exists
ResQGear was founded on a simple idea: responsible firearm ownership does not stop at preparedness for defense - it also includes preparedness for medical response. In firearm-related critical incidents, preventable deaths are most often caused by uncontrolled bleeding from extremities and chest trauma. The tools exist. The training exists. The weak link is timely access and effective intervention when seconds matter.
As responsible citizens, we have the right to possess firearms. With that right comes the expectation of responsibility beyond the moment a threat is stopped. Defensive situations unfold quickly, and the moments that follow can be just as critical as the moments before.
How we think about design
- Integrated, not tacked on. Medical readiness is built into our designs from the start, not added later as an afterthought.
- Real use cases first. Gear should earn its place by solving real problems without introducing new ones.
- Simple under stress. When fine motor skills are gone, adrenaline is high, and time is brutally short, access and use must remain fast, intuitive, and consistent — without added complexity.
